It's Tuesday in Makeupland (super quick Lost in Makeupland post)

Hi everyone, this is a short quick post to let you know I have a lot of news! I've been working at a cafe pub for the last month and a half. They're starting the new waiters team at the moment and I don't have a schedule yet, I have to be on watch in case they need me and work the WHOLE weekend. I'm not complaining though, I like the place and while some coworkers suck and the beginning wasn't easy, we're getting rid of the mean useless ones and getting in some awesome people.

I really need to take pics of the inside of the pub, I'm sure you'll like it as much as I do!

I'm so glad that I finally found a job :)

I haven't had time for anything lately but I'm trying to settle in and figure out how to adapt Lost in Makeupland to it.

Now, onto the news you're interested in, I already have a domain and hosting service for LiM and both my shop and blog will soon be there and with a whole new image for the company that I hope you love as much as I'm loving it at the moment. This wouldn't be possible without the help of the wonderful Luna from Toxid-Lotus, not only is she lovely and does the BEST swatches, she also has a great eye for design and she's doing an amazing work. I SO can't wait to show you, I'm so excited about it!!

While I'll keep my Etsy shop open, I want to eventually be able to close on Etsy and only keep the webshop. Sales and specials will only be available at the webshop.

I think that's it for today, stay tuned because I have a lot coming soon!

Doll costume for a party at work a couple of weeks ago, I didn't get to work in the end but I drank for free, a lot LOL

It's Saturday in Makeupland

Things have been suuuuuuupah busy here in Makeupland lately.A lot has been going on and I've been terrible and haven't updated the blog in like forever, sorry about that!

I have so much to tell you I don't even know where to start! So many things are happening right now! After a terrible summer and a chaotic month of August, things are coming back to its place and I'm feeling great, happy and full of positive energy. And I want to share all the good things coming from me with you :)

One thing I want to state is that this week my Paypal account was hacked and emptied and the limitation hasn't been taken off yet (not funny at all when you need that money and need supplies) so I'm very low in 10 gram jars and have no actual way to pay for more. Hope to fix that during this next week. When I run out of them, 10 gr jars will be put out of stock to avoid delays in my turnaround time.

A few weeks ago, there was a huge scandal in ArtFire. Due to a security branch information from customers was revealed to others. After that, ArtFire dealed (or should I say didn't deal with) that situation and had a quite nasty response.

I find this unacceptable and won't continue selling there, and I'm not the only one who has decided to move out from there, other shops like OHWTO (go buy some Black Magic Soap and amazing solid scents!!). From now on I'm only selling on my Etsy shop and hope to also open my own web shop really soon.

If you want to know more about this, go over to read this super complete post on what happened. There's a ton of info and screencaps so you can see the whole mess created.
Next Monday, September 5, will be an important day for Lost in Makeupland. Why? Because it's the final launch date of the Nostalgia collection, the new Whipped highlighters, the Finishing Powder for oily skin and the finishing veils in English Rose, Faerie and Glow.

If you want to try them asap, you can get a pre-release sample pack with the Nostalgia collection and the new Whipped highlighters for only $10 (you save $9) . As soon as the collection is released, it won't be available anymore.

I've said earlier in this post that I'm very low on 10 gram jars at the moment, so none of the new products will be available in that size until I get them restocked. Highlighters will be available in sample size and 5 gram size while the finishing powder and finishing veils will remain in sample size until then.

Click on the picture to see the swatches better!

Those of you who follow me on Twitter or Facebook have already seen the final swatches of the upcoming stuff, but I'll be posting (hopefully tomorrow or Monday) a more in depth blog post about them with bigger pictures and detailed descriptions and the story behind all these products.

If you have a blog and want to share the pictures or any kind of info on the new collection, feel free to do so and let me know!! It always makes me happy to see Lost in Makeupland around the net. <3
Volta is the Product of the Month of September. A looooot is going on around it so make sure to check this post because there's also a giveaway!

If you want to contribute to this POTM with looks or guest posts using it please email me at lostinmakeupland@gmail.com, I'll love to hear from you!!!!

I went trekking this afternoon to an amazing place, on my own, lost myself into the woods enjoying nature and the beautiful surroundings. Doesn't this make you feel paceful?

What do you think of the new stuff? Which are your favorites?
How was your summer? I REALLY missed posting!

I'm alive, I swear! An update on Makeupland

I must be the biggest slacker ever, because it's been two months since I last updated my blog. Bad, bad Belén! I've started to write blog posts lots of times, but they didn't seem to fit in when they were finished so they got deleted and forgotten. I have lots of things to tell, but will try to keep everything as short and sweet as possible.

I haven't been very active on Twitter either, because I didn't want too many distractions.

I've been extremely busy with my personal life lately, I've taken important decisions about my education (I've signed to do a course to do an exam and access a superior education), it's also been taxes time, the local festival and my birthday which also happened in the middle of an order rush (because that's how life is!). I'm also searching for a job very actively which is also consuming a lot of my time. Sadly, unemployment salaries don't last forever :(

Besides that, I've also been working a lot on my company. The upcoming collection and new products should have been released by June 27th, but I've decided to hold everything back until I receive some supplies (sample labels and some micas I need for some of my most popular products). I think that's the wisest thing to do. Product pictures will be up next week though with color descriptions and a nice presentation of the upcoming releases and as soon as I'm ready they'll be released.

It'd be much easier to release everything when I meant to and try to sort it out, but I honestly try to do things the right way and I want this release to be as amazing as I know it can be. It's so hard to keep everything so secret!

One of the big releases will be the Finishing Powder for Oily Skin. The lovely Stephanie from The Raven And The Rose offered to test it and the results couldn't be better! She followed through the whole process on her blog and you can read her conclusions and review on this post. It makes me super happy to see that she keeps on using it daily on her LOTDs :) By the way, take a look at her blog for lots of indie swatches and her lovely looks and also her writing blog, which I find super interesting.
The amazing Phyrra featured me on her June's Independent Spotlight. It was super fun answering her questions.

You know her blog is one of my favorites so I'm super happy she offered to feature me. If you want to know me a little better and hear some fun facts about my life and company, don't hesitate to read it :)
I've announced it on Twitter before, but it's going to be a reality. From now on, I'll start a little reward program on my ArtFire shop. What does this mean? It means that when you buy from my shop, you'll accumulate points you'll be able to change for products. I need to write a more exhaustive post on that so everything is clear, but just so you have an idea, if you spend $10 dollars on my shop (shipping not included), you'll get 1 point, if you spend +$20 you'll get two. They'll be converted into dollars later, which means that when you have 6 points you can chose a free full size eyeshadow or a sample pack in your next order for example.

I have to give it a try and figure out the best way to make it work, but I think for the moment it's a nice addition to my service and hope you appreciate it as much as I appreciate your support. THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING THERE!

Starting in August, every month will be dedicated to one product. It will be any of my products, ranging from eyeshadows to highlighters without forgetting about blushes. I'll pick a shade every month and will post weekly about it. I'll post pics, the story behind the shade, EOTD's and will give away a full size of that product to one of you. In addition, that shade will be 20% off during the whole month.

That's it for today, I'll leave you with a (bad quality) picture from last weekend, I went camping on the beach to somehow celebrate my birthday (which was last Wednesday) and had this nice fire (which doubled as a BBQ when we added these big wooden pieces) I couldn't help but photograph with my iPhone. Looking at fire is so relaxing...

How have you been? I really missed you all!

It's Monday at Makeupland (Weekly Lost in Makeupland post)

I'm very excited this week and it hasn't almost started! First of all, as you may know already, I released the Alice's Chains collection, I'm working on a nostalgic collection (I've posted a few pictures on Twitter today) that will be released by the end of May/start of June. It has been in the works for a long time, but I've been holding up on it for outer reasons I won't go into.

I'm also working on new blush and face powder shades, lipbalms (which I'm going to start shipping to my volunteer testers) and will soon ask you all out for help on a beautiful project I already talked about on Twitter. If you follow my tweets, you've already seen when I asked you out for your stories on cat adoption. I'll talk more openly about the whole project and how it's going to be done, but in a few words, I want to put all your stories and mine together into a little ebook that would be donated to an animal shelter (I've contemplated selling it and donating the benefits but I want no shadow of doubt over myself and my honesty) and besides that I'll make an eyeshadow collection as a tribute to these cats. I'll give you more details in a while, but hope everybody is as excited about it as I am. :)

Now for the news!

Bye, bye sifters!!

I've already started to replace sifters in 5gram jars with shrink bands. This means that jars will be full and closed. Price will stay the same for them $5.99. I still have to update all my listings and include this info so there aren't any unhappy clients.

Doesn't it look cute?
Weekly Sale

I already posted about it (typo included lol!), until May 8th all orders over $15 (before shipping) get a free surprise gift!! ;) It's valid on both my ArtFire and Etsy shops.

Doesn't look like it, but it's spring! Giveaway time!

Usually here in Spain when April comes weather becomes super sunny and we have nice temperatures. This year it hasn't been like that. It's been raining, dark, quite cold a lot of days.. not what spring is supposed to be at the south of Spain.

Still, I'm stubborn and want to wear bright colors and cheer myself through makeup. During this month I'll be uploading looks using colors I like for spring. For me, it's time for yellows (am I the only sucker for yellow eyeshadow out there?), neons, oranges and strong lips (bold pink and ooooh I SO want to get my hands o a Morgana Cryptoria's orange lippie!).

Which leads me to the following... do you want to win an Alice's Chains collection sample pack? Just leave a comment on this post telling me your favourite colors for spring on your eyes and lips.

-You must be a follower to enter.
-Giveaway it's open worldwide.
-For an extra entry, you can tweet " Let's celebrate spring with a gift from @lostmakeupland "

A winner will be drawn at random on Monday May 9th. It can't be easier!

Alice's Chains collection swatches

So, how's spring treating you so far? Are a lot of you experiencing allergies too? Do they affect the way you put on your makeup? For example I try not to line my waterline and avoid mascara on my bottom lashes when my eyes are all allergic and watery.

Makeupland's Weekly Post

It's very late in the week, but here it is my little resume of what's going on here at Makeupland these days.

Alice's Chains

I've decided to release the collection next Wednesday, April 20. I'll give you more details at the start of the week. Remember about it? I reformulated it some time ago, but never released it.

Here you have my old swatches as a reminder :D

Suppliers

I blogged last week about the TKB Pops being discontinued and the trouble that brought to my business because of the need to reformulate and the ingredients on the possible replacements.

Well, I asked around the net and was told about other companies with possible replacements. At the end I've decided to stick to really similar micas carried by Coastal Scents. I can't be thankful enough to Melissa, the wonderful woman behind Morgana Cryptoria, because she sent me the links and gave me some useful info on suppliers. You already know I'm a Morgana fan and about my obsession with her lippies, well, I can't recommend you enough this shop, they offer great quality products (my favourite lipsticks!) and you also get a wonderful customer service and honesty. I think all of us indie sellers should be like Melissa when it comes to professionality :)

It will take me some time to be able to order these micas and formulate my products like they originally were. The great thing about these micas is that they have the same basic ingredients than the Pops.

Weekly Offer

Until next Sunday 24, you can get a 10% off every order over $15 (doesn't include shipping) at my ArtFire shop! Just write the coupon APRIL10 at checkout for the discount :D

I'll keep this post short, so it ends here, but I can't help but point you towards Lisa Eldridge's site. She's currently doing a special on make up through the eras, and the different trends and products on the different decades from Victorian up to nowadays. It's DELIGHTFUL hearing her talk about what was used and how woman used it through the years, the incredible packaging and pigmentation of some products... Aaaaah! I've watched the three videos up so far a few times and squeeee every time! Tell me they aren't delightful and awesome IF YOU DARE!

It's Tuesday at Makeupland (laaate Weekly Post)

I know it's been forever since I last posted here, I'm not even going to give any excuses, just say I'm sorry and really hope I could sit down and write the MILLION ideas on my schedule.

I don't want the post to be Bible-long, so I'm going to try to be concise and clear.

Weekly Offer

This week I've gone crazy, BUY ONE GET ONE FREE at my ArtFire shop!! (not on Etsy, sorry!). Everything applies except palettes and pressed palette refills.
This leads me to...

ArtFire

Lost in Makeupland is now on ArtFire too! For those of you who don't know ArtFire, it's an Etsy-like place but better.
Why? I'll give you the simplest reason. NO FEES for me. As my shop slowly grows, I also have to pay more Etsy fees and have to buy more supplies. I just can't put up with that.
Shipping costs have gone crazy, I'm still unemployed and have to pay my car, bills and eat and I just can't. I also want to study and just can't pay for it all. I don't want to raise my shipping charges and want to keep LiM affordable for everybody and that's the only way to do it I can come up with.

So, from now on, all my offers, discounts and a little reward system for returning customers I want to put up before summer are going to be on my ArtFire shop only.
Registering there is free for you and pricing will be the same for my products.

Navigation is easy and hey, the shop looks lovely! Another plus is that I can add more product pictures, keep a blog there... Really, it's amazing the tools they give us sellers to make the experience so much nicer and easier for you.

I'm not going to close my Etsy shop, but I'd like my customers to use the ArtFire one instead. Obviously, it's up to you whether you prefer to buy there or not, but it's a nice way to help support companies you like.

If you have any doubts or questions as to how to use ArtFire, just let me know and I'll try to put together a mini tutorial or something :)

Contest winners

I know, I know! I haven't forgotten about this! So, before you get bored of my ramblings and go away, I'll announce the winners of my 100 sales celebration contest!

And, the lucky winners are:

-My favourite look (this was really hard to chose! I loved them all!) who'll receive 10 samples of her choice...

 Rach!!

-For the 50% off coupons

Aaaaaand, the big winner of $50 in Lost in Makeupland products of her choice is....

Congratulations ladies!!! I hope you're happy with your prices :D I'll contact all of you during this week with all the info.

I want to thank all the people who joined the contest, it was fun and I loved it. Next one will be when I reach 500! ;D

What's going on?

I'm working on a LOT of things. Those of you who follow me on Twitter and know me a bit know that I'm not going through good times. It affects me in a weird way, I find it very hard to sit down and "produce" stuff but I'm incredibly creative, I've been making a lot of new products, some of them have been tested already, some are being tested and others I haven't found the time to try yet.

As a new, important note, I'm trying out lip balm formulas, they're so fun! I can't give a launch date yet since it's still in the earliest phase of testing. I'll be sending a few volunteers samples so they can try them and I can also check how they behave in different weathers. My idea is to sell them in cute little tins, tinted and not. I haven't decided on a price yet. I'll tell you more about this as soon as I can.

The Alice's Chains collection is definitely going to be released this month.I want to add a couple of new blush shades to it, one of them will be very neutral going in the line of the collection, and the other will be EXTRA bold. The jar design will be super cute, it was designed by the lovely Sakura and I love it. <3

I also have a bunch of new highlighters ready to be released but don't see that happening anytime soon. I'm quite low on some supplies and until I find a new jar supplier with REASONABLE shipping costs I can't spend a fortune on big jars. Really, it's insane the way prices have gone up, I can't put up with that.

Something beautiful

I want to finish this post with something beautiful. I'm always angry at my neighbour because he's got a lot of trees on his patio and they go into my patio, fruits fall down and ruin mine, tree leaves fall down too, I just fucking hate it and have thought about ruining his trees more than once.

But I have to admit that I love this tree and don't mind it going into my patio (just while it's this beautiful lol). It bloomed a couple of days ago and looks stunning.

So, how are things going on lately? Have you ever used ArtFire? What's your opinion on it? I've only been there for a little time so I'd love to check out other people's opinions.

Any blogs worth discovering? I'd love to get to know new food, fashion and hair related places on the net :D

Weekly (and quite late) Post

Fist of all I want to apologize for the lack of blog updates. I've been busy, very busy, then sick and I've been neglecting the blog a lot.
There is a loooot going on at Makeupland, and I'm so excited to share the news with you! A few secrets will be kept for the momment too, but stay tuned and you'll know very soon :D

New equipment

I bought a new grinder last week, this one is much bigger than my previous one and more potent, so I can make bigger batches in less time with a bigger quality than with the old one. I LOVE it!! It's saved me a lot of time and has helped me get do all the delayed work quickly.

#100 and counting

Last week, Lost in Makeupland reached 100 orders!! I'm really happy and grateful for all the people who's helping this baby grow each day. I'm glad you trust my little company and like my products.

As a way to say thanks, I want to celebrate with a BIG contest. The prize? There'll be three lucky winners.

One will receive $50 in Lost in Makeupland products of her/his choice, and there'll be two winners of a 50% discount code each.

What do you have to do to win?

Just read a post with all the instructions which will be up tomorrow. The contest will last until March 10.

Pressed stuff and releases!

I can finally announce when I'm going to release pressed highlighters, blushes and eyeshadows. It'll be by March 1st if everything goes well.

I'm going to offer them in different formats, palettes and refills.

You have two options when you buy a palette. You can either request one with two 2,6cm pans and two 1,5cm pans at $22 or you can get it with two big pans at $20. Palettes will be magnetized so you can remove the pans anythime and put it inside another palette of your choice. They'll be made in your choice of colors so you'll have to leave a note with it at checkout.

 Palettes will look like this.

Refills will be $8,50 the 2,6cm pans and $1,75 the small ones.

Except for highlighters and blushes, I'll press eyeshadows by request, so you'll have to keep in mind that it's a process that takes quite a lot of time and you'll have to allow me 2 more days to make them than with normal loose powders. I'm going to try to make it quite fast though and have some stock ready before I launch them.

On that same day, I will be releasing six new blush shades which have been ready for the longest time. I'm showing you some swatches so you get the idea of how they look. These swatches aren't the best, they look much better in real life, but I wanted to show them to you before they were released. They were tested long ago and I've been wearing them quite often, but I wanted to be secretive about them.

They'll be available both in loose and pressed form.

On to the swatches and descriptions! :)
Say it isn't so

Bright cool pink with a blue shift.

Alive
Light pearly pink with a reddish light to it.

Peachy

Light sheer peach with almost unnoticeable gold and copper iridescence.

Exotic

Beautiful reddish peach with a slight orange duochrome.

But I like it

 Gorgeous mauve with copper duochrome.

Golden Touch

Flattering rosy peach with a golden duochrome touch.

I'm also working on an ultra secret collection I'm UBER excited about and it's going to be EPIC, but I can't give you more details. Haven't forgotten about the Alice's Chains collection either, and hope to be able to release it during March. And, there are a couple of super seeeeeecret collaborations with 2 ladies we all love which you'll know about very soon :D

I love shopping indie!

Lately I've received some more gorrrrgeous indie stuff. The lovely Sakura sent me samples of Sugarpill loose eyeshadows, which I'm absolutely in love with and I also received a Fyrinnae order which I bought together with her. I got samples of Damn Paladins, Feline Familiars and Pyromantic Erotica. I'll try to take pics and swatch everything I've gotten lately for you, but for now, I'll leave you with a picture of my today's LOTD using Fyrinnae's Feline Familiars and Lost in Makeupland's Glow.

Are you excited about the incoming releases? What do you think of the blushes? And about the contest? I've gone craaaaaaaaaazyyy!!

Weekly Lost in Makeupland post

I should really go back to posting the Weekly posts on Sunday, I feel like a total slacker when I post them later than Monday! Still, here is my weekly update on what's going on at Makeupland. There's quite a bit of stuff I want to talk about.

Delayed Packages from December

They are starting to arrive! One of the packages which was taking longer, shipped on Dec 11, FINALLY arrived to the buyer yesterday. I was SO relieved I can't even tell you. I'm quite worried about all the packages I shipped back them I hope they all start arriving.

Here's a bit more info on that, I took those paragraphs from the Royal Mail (UK Postal Service) page.

USA Start date: 18th November
End date: Ongoing

Update 28th January 2011:

The United States Department of Homeland Security is continuing to require increased security measures for items carried on passenger airlines. As a result, some mail entering the USfrom around the world, and including the UK, that would normally be sent via passenger aircraft must now travel by other means, including ships and cargo planes.

Most items, including personal letters and cards, magazines, CDs, DVDs and lightweight packets, will be delivered in the USwithin a few days of posting.  However, there are delays of about two weeks for some heavier packets.  These delays are currently affecting stamped items, franked items, and items posted under contract, with the exception of Destination Sort and/or M-Bag* items.

That means that items shipped via ordinary mail have more of a chance of arriving soon and well than registered ones. This is crazy, but there's nothing I can do but hope things are done eventually in a way it doesn't affect European people when shipping something to the US.

I also wrote a blog post adressing that matter a while ago, you can read it here.

I'm going to continue to keep in touch with the affected buyers and will try to find a solution by the middle of the month for those who haven't received their packages by then.

Releases

I know I keep promising to go back to releasing stuff constantly, but I've gotten an order increase and am working on a lot of stuff and just find releasing a shade per week quite annoying and time-consuming at the momment. So, what I'll do will be release what's left of the Lifestyle collection soon, all at once, and have a few batches prepared before I do it so it doesn't affect my work schedule. Also, the lightening here it's so bad lately (it finally stopped raining yesterday!) that I haven't been able to photograph anything, I still have to take pictures of nearly all my eyeshadows again and upload some more swatches.

Valentines

I won't be releasing a Valentines collection, nor am I going to have one of my weekly sales this week, but I will have a Valentine's sale. From this momment until February 20th, if you write the coupon code MUSTBELOVE at checkout you'll get an automatic 10% discount on your order! ^____^

Highlighter packs

My highlighters are becoming very popular, mostly thanks to Ana ;) and I get lots of questions about which one would suit you better. I'm always glad to answer your questions, and last week I actually posted a How-to tutorial thinguie with lots of pictures showing you how I use them and how they look on my warm skin, but I can't really know how all of them are going to look on you since we all have different skin tones and undertones. So, I've thought that the best way to let you find your perfect highlighter is by offering a highlighter sample pack.

It will cost $4 (separately the price would be $5.50) and you'll receive four baggies with a sample of each of my highlighters : Faerie, Glow, English Rose and as an extra, a sample of Whipped (this one doubles both as an eyeshadow and a eye highlighter). You'll get the same quantity of product than when you order the highlighters separately with the only difference of them going in the small baggies I use for eyeshadow samples instead of the bigger ones I use for highlighters, blushes and face powders.

I find it's quite a nice offer for those who are unsure of which shade will suit them best or aren't really into highlighters and want to experiment with them and their textures at a small prize.

These will be available sometime today or tomorrow. I'm qute busy at the momment and can't promise an exact date, but I will post about that on Twitter, Facebook and here on the blog.

How to's

Last week, I posted a tutorial on how to use my highlighters on the face. I took a lot of pictures and explained step by step how I do it, showing how it works with Faerie on a side and Glow on the other so you could see how a different toned highlighter can change and melt with a skin tone.

Is there anything else you would like me to explain? A tutorial on a make up technique, a way to apply any of my eyeshadows, swatches, comparisons, whatever? I'd love to know and would be glad to take the time and make them, I really enjoy all things make up related from creation, to experimenting with new stuff, and what I love the most is makeup application. If there are any tips you'd like me to share, don't hesitate to ask!

I love shopping indie!

A few weeks ago I received a Shiro cosmetics order I'm dying to share with you, so expect me to post some swatches and rave about the awesome stuff I bought!

Last week I also received a small Beauty From The Earth order I made because of a great sale they had to try ther products (Becca it's your fault, you convinced me!!!) and I also want to show you a couple of shades that really impressed me.

I've also placed orders from Evil Shades, The Morbid the Merrier, Haus of Gloi, and a package from One Hand Washes the Other (yayayayayayayayyyy so excited about receiving this one!!!) still pending to arrive, I'll show you the goodies once I receive them, I'm so excited about everything! ^_____^

Plus, Morgana Cryptoria is going to release 20 new lipstick shades, I can't wait to see them, I'm sure they'll be gorgeous! You can read about my great experience shopping from Morgana Cryptoria here. <3

I think that's it for this week's post!! Stay tuned, I'll be posting more this week ;) Really, thanks everybody for keeping up with the blog, following and all, I'm glad! <3

So, is there anything you're looking forwards to this week? Any ideas, suggestions, things you'd like me to talk about? What do you think of the highlighters pack?

Weekly post, what's new?

This week has started strong here at Lost in Makeupland. There are a lot of things going on, some of them you'll know about really soon, others will be kept a secret for some time.

What I can tell you is that I finally released one of my secret colaboration projects, that is a lovely highlighter I made for the amazing Ana. It's called English Rose and it's perfect for pale, cool toned skin. You can also use it if you're warmer, I specially like it on the inner corners of my eyes.

Can you see the difference between English Rose and Faerie? They're quite similar but English Rose is a cool pink tone and Faerie is a peachy pink.

Speaking of Ana, she's posted an update on my company on her blog and you can check her swatches, highlighter comparison and opinion on them, I'm truly glad she's happy with everything ^_____^

In other news, you know I have a different offer every week, this week I'm keeping last week's offer since it hasn't been around for the whole week and it's quite a nice deal. You get five free samples of your choice if your order is over $20 and if it's over $30 you also get a 30% discount on your next order. Shipping cost not included in the offer.

This week I'm also going to release my finishing powders for Normal to Dry skin and Normal to Combination skin, stay tuned because they'll be out today or tomorrow! ;) These will go in 10gr jars at $8 and sample baggies at $2. I plan on selling bigger jars in the future if they sell well. They work great as finishing powders and I've also tried them as primer before my liquid foundation, with lovely results. I'm so excited about them!!

I'm working in a lot of stuff at the momment!

I can announce that I'll be offering pressed powder highlighters and blushes soon, as palette refills and will also sell small palette duos to those of you who want them. You will also be able to request me to press any of my eyeshadows for you. I'll write an indeep post on this before I start selling them.

I think that's it for the weekly post, yet I have the feeling I'm missing something!!

Coming soon...

So after the Christmas craze and the forced stop because of me being sick, things go on in Lost in Makeupland and I have plans on releasing new stuff and keep my company improving and growing.

There are quite a few products in the works. I want to briefly introduce them to you.

Finishing Powders

I've been working on these and testing them for quite some time already, with great results.  These will be released sometime between the end of January or beginning of February.
I've formulated three different powders to suit different skin type needs.

There's the Normal to Dry skin finishing powder, currently being tested by the lovely Sakura (thanks hun!). This powder it's meant to help set and kind of mattify your foundation, diffuse pores and fine lines and keep your skin nice.

My favourite is the Normal to Combination skin one. I've tested it on myself and it has absolutely worked great for me as a finishing powder AND as a primer. I've been using it on a daily basis since I formulated it. I usually wash and tone my skin, then apply a really thin layer of powder on my face, let it sit for a couple of minutes then do my foundation and makeup routine. To finish my makeup, I dust a bit of it again over my face and it keeps me matte and nice for 6-8 hours, depending on how my skin is behaving that day.

Last but not least, I've also formulated a Finishing Powder for Oily skin. I was having a friend test it, but she didn't at the end so I'm still trying to find someone to test it before it is released.
I've tried it on myself, but it's not appropiate for my skin type since I'm normal with a tendency to get slightly to very (depending on the weather and my hormones) oily on my T-zone, so my experience isn't correct in order to test/tweak it. It does dry my skin too much and I have to take it off after minutes. The only conclussion I can take out of this is that it is too drying for normal skin types and would "probably" work on oilier ones, but there's no way I'm releasing this until I get it tested properly.

Alice's Chains collection

When this collection was going to be released, I had a major supply problem so I kept it away for some time. Then, I re-tested it and found I could make some changes since Dirt and Rain When I Die stain my lids so I've tweaked their formulas a bit. It'll probably be released in February.
I really do want to take my time and maybe design some nice packaging for it.

Them Bones, Would?, Dirt, Rain When I Die, Man in The Box, Love Hate Love

More Blushes

I have quite a few blushes formulated and will probably release them all during February. Swatches will be up soon ;)

Lifestyle Collection

I stopped releasing Lifestyle shades back when I had the supply problem in December and it was something else I neglected after being sick. I have a lot of colors from this collection and plan on releasing them. I'm quite fond of them and think they're really nice on terms of color and texture, even though each one has its own.
If everything goes well, I'll be releasing a new Lifestyle eyeshadow on Monday 24. I'll show you some swatches during next week.

Concealing Powders

These are still in the earliest creation process. I'm experimenting with formulas, colors and coverages to come up with a green and yellow powder to even out redness, a light lavender and orange one for under eye concealing... as I've stated, right now that's just experimenting, but I hope something good comes out of it.

More Eyeshadows

I'm also working on more colors with and textures for eyeshadows and will keep on releasing new colors in the following months. I'll probably wait until I'm happy with quite a few and release them all together instead of releasing one by one.

Highlighters

I'm happy to say that there are a few more highlighters coming soon!!! I've done two collaborative super seeeeekrit projects with two wonderful ladies and you'll hear about them soon. I'm very excited about them and hope you will be too once they see the light! ;)

Wow, that's about it I guess, are you people looking forward for something particular? Any suggestions on products, eyeshadow finishes, blushes or finishing powders you'd like? How do you feel about powder concealers? Feedback is always welcome! :)

I promise I'm back! Some thinking and love for all of you :)

Hi everyone!

First of all, I'd like to apologize for not updating my blog for so long. I've been neglecting it in order of getting other things done and due to life in general.

Christmas has been very busy, Lost in Makeupland is a baby that's trying to stand up on it's own and starting to walk step by little step. I really, REALLY, want to thank you all for keeping up with me, trusting my company and products and giving them a try.

I also want to apologize to all the people who ordered from me by the end of December because I had a long gap where it took me far too long to proccess or ship their orders. I fell sick at the start of January with a horrible cold, which resulted in me not going out of home to ship anything and absolutely and for OBVIOUS hygiene reasons not  going anywhere near products until I got well. No way for me getting near micas and bases while I was constantly coughing, sneezing and wiping my nose every momment. I hope everybody understands it and that it's not a big hassle for you.

A very important thing I want to do is thank all the people who's asked me questions, to those who've bought from me, especially for those of you who have come back after your first purchases. To all the people who's reviewed me (both on blogs and people who convo me telling me what they like about my products and how was their experience with them). Also thanks for those of you who follow my blog, Twitter and Facebook page.

I especially want to thank all the people who's ordered from me during Christmas and are still waiting for their orders to arrive. Thanks for your patience. Apparently, this Christmas have been very problematic for sellers outside the US. I'm going to write a full post about it, because doing some research, I've found out that I'm not the only one who's sent packages that are not arriving. I think it's a very serious matter and believe it deserves a post of it's own. If you ordered between Dec 11 and 27, don't panic just yet!

I'm so happy with the way things are going for my company, that I can't complain. Lost in Makeupland has been open for two months and a half and I've made more than 50 sales already, which I think it's great.

It's quite a bit overwhelming in the way that I'm changing my work schedule to adapt myself to the growing of the shop. I'm still deep into that, so I'm working slower at the momment and hope things go faster starting this new week. My current turnaround time is 2-5 days.

I'll be catching up with you guys in blog stuff during this next week, but I'll leave a little list of some of the topics I'm going to cover soon here:

-I've made a couple of giveaways.
-Upcoming products (a deep look into my Face powders, Alice's Chains collection which is being reformulated)
-I'm using transparent jars for eyeshadows instead of shiny black lids.
-Looks by you.
-Part 2 of the How I test my products post.
-The wonders of Pixie Epoxy (thanks Sakura for sending me some!)
-I've bought stuff from some lovely indie companies and will tell you what I think of everything.
-Looks by me.

New week...

As you may (or may not if you are new to Lost in Makeupland), every week starts with a Lifestyle collection release and a new weekly offer.

Supply problems seem to have vanished already and I'm going back to being fully productive! Today was quite productive actually since I released 3 blush shades.

Monday will be the release of Mustard, a greenish gold, almost metallic and quite flattering. Here is a little swatch of it.

On to the weekly sale... there's one going until December 25th that you'll already know about if you follow me on Twitter ;) AND there's another one that starts this week. If your order is over $15 (shipping not included), you can choose 5 eyeshadow, highlighter or blush samples for free. Not bad, isn't it?

This week I want to get more swatching done, show you upcoming eyeshadows I'm working on, do a few EOTDs (any look you'd like to see? Is there any eyeshadow combo you want me to try? I'm open to suggestions!).

I also want to share with you some of the products I use frequently and highlight others I'm dying to try but haven't bought yet.

Dealing with making the Facebook page is driving me crazy, I've spent the whole day trying to make something nice for it and it was a total failure. I hope I figure out during this week a way to make it work. Trying to find a template to add offers, highlight new products and more stuff there has been fruitless.

I also have a few emails to send, some research to do, to do home stuff, bleach and dye my hair, setting up the reviews page, get ready to party HARD on the 24th, keep going to the gym every day of the week and so many things that I feel dizzy just by thinking about them.

Blogging regularly is quite an effort to me, but I think I'm getting used to it slowly :)

How was last week for you? Is this incoming week going to be stressful for you too?

Finally!! And coming soon...

Today I have a couple of announcements!! Full size 10 gram jars for highlighters Glow and Faerie are already available on my shop, at $8 I think is a fair price for them.

On another note, I also made a Facebook page for LiM, check it out!

And, I'm showing you a sneak peak of what's coming this Monday, a new Lifestyle eyeshadow, Mustard!! It is a greenish gold, with a nearly metallic look to it. It's beautiful and has a lot of blending possibilities!

I'm also going to start selling blushes as soon as I put together pictures and text they'll be up on my shop. Blush prices will be $4.00 MiniSize 5gr jar and $7.00 Full size 10gr jar.

How should I use the Facebook page? What do you think of Mustard? Do you find my highlighter and blush prices fair? I'll be glad to know your opinion! :)

Swatches of Alice's Chains :)

Today is a sunny day yay!! It's been raining and cloudy non stop for almost two weeks, but today sun has risen so I have been able to swatch this new collection. Before the end of this week I'll put up a sample pack on the shop as a preview of this collection. I LOOOOOVE it!!

The swatches didn't turn out perfect, as usual, but you get an idea. I also plan on doing a comparison of a few shades which don't look right on my screen with a few TKB micas, so there is no doubt about my products ;)

What do you think of these colors?

Coming soon...

This is what I'm working on lately:

-Releasing the Lifestyle collection

Every Monday I'll be releasing a new shade. Those are bright yet very wearable eyeshadows for everyday use.

This week was Psychedelic Mushroom's turn, isn't it gorgeous?

-The Rock my Look collection

This music related collection will be released arond the middle of December, but a sample pack is available at $4.50. 6 crazy, deep and plain gorgeous colors great for dark, edgy smokey looks, and GREAT used as liners.

-Alice's Chains collection

This will be released during December as well. Those colors are, I don't know how to explain it, like a "clean" look at Alice in Chains's album covers, I love that band! These colors are wearable and easy to combine.

-New products

In the upcoming months I'll be releasing a few blushes and finishing powders.

Everything will happen at it's time, no rushing here. I'm working very hard on providing good quality products and hope everybody enjoys them as much as I do ^____^

Is there anything you'd like to see? What shades would you like to see and try?
