Morgana Cryptoria Lipstick Swatches - Round Two!

Some time ago, I posted swatches of the four Morgana Cryptoria lipsticks I owned back then (click here to see them). After that, I ordered several samples to try out a lot of shades I liked. Today I'm swatching them.

These colors (except Gilded Ballerina which I bought a full size tube) were applied with a finger (GB was applied directly from the tube). I find Morgana's lipsticks are best applied from the bullet, if you have any weird edges or feel like you need to fill in a little spot, go over it with a little lipstick brush then the bullet, I think that's how they work the best. If you see any uneven parts it's due to the camera and that I didn't take the biggest care in applying them since I was going to take them off immediately.

Samples aren't available anymore, but there is an ultra helpful page where you can see swatches of every lipstick taken from different blogs, which means you'll see how they look in different lightings, lips and skin tones.

On to the swatches!

SANGRIA
I get 3-4 hours of wear with this one. It's one of my favourites, GORGEOUS!!! It's beautiful and flattering and goes perfect with a a fuchsia blush. I need to get a full size of this.

SUNSET PEACH
This color doesn't suit my coloring, but it doesn't mean it isn't beautiful. What I do to be able to use it is apply it very lightly on top of a fuchsia lipstick or as a mere stain on my lips under a bright gloss. I've worn it at home for a good 3 hours.

VERY STRAWBERRY
LO-LO-LOVE it!! This one is very similar to Very Cherry, but much pinker while Cherry is redder. You need it, and that's all I need to say about it. It's one of the most moisturizing lipsticks I've tried from Morgana. I get over four hours of wear with this one.

GILDED CERISE
The picture makes the lipstick no justice. It has a light gold shift which I couldn't capture with the cam but looks gorgeous in person. If you are warm toned, you'll love it. I get about 4 hours of wear with it, it also feels especially moisturizing.

ROSES AND VIOLETS
This is one of my favorites. It's perfect for any look, both soft, bright and dark smokey. I've used it in any look you can think of. This one lasts around 4 hours on me. It has the prettiest violet shift to it and feels amazing on the lips.

DIANTHUS
This one is beautifu. A cool metallic rose. Since I don't feel comfortable with a metallic look on my lips, I like to use a fuchsia gloss on top. I get 3-4 hours of wear wearing it alone, with a gloss around 2-3. Reeeeally flattering on my skin tone.

ROSE PLUM
This is a gorgeous "neutral". It doesn't look as reddish as on my swatch IRL, it's a bit lighter, imagine your lip color a couple of tones darker. It's perfect for any kind of look and I use it constantly. I get 3-4 hours of wear and have purchased a full size tube of it.

MOCHA BLAST
I wouldn't wear this one as is outside because I'm not comfortable with dark colors on my lips and makes me look vampy, but I've used it as a stain under a red gloss and love the result. It's got a beautiful red shine to it and it's really creamy. I haven't fully tested how long it lasts, but after two hours I had it on it looked exactly the same as applied.

COCOA
This shade is underrated. It's PERFECT. I can say without a doubt this is my favourite your lips but better lipstick, a perfect neutral I feel is great for any skin tone. It's a rosy brown that feels and look beautiful. I get 3-4 hours of wear from it and had to order a full size since I'm almost out of it. I won't be happy if it ever gets discontinued.

GILDED BALLERINA
This is the only full size I purchased. It's BEAUTIFUL I love it, yet it doesn't completely suit me since it's a tiny bit too light for me. What I do is layer it on top of Azalea blue or Cocoa so I can wear it. I get 3-4 hours of wear with it. It's a beautiful color which suits many looks.

That's all! I've ordered one more, Pumpkin Eater, so I'll swatch it for you when I have it.

Have you tried the new Morgana lipsticks? Which one is your favorite? What ideas do you come up with when a lipstick doesn't suit you and you want to adapt it to your skin tone?

I Love Indie! Owl obsession

I've had some weird obsession with owls lately, I just keep thinking of them and looking for items with owls in them.

So this week's Indie love is owl related!

I Love Indie! A little bit of red

I'm trying to post more often and spent this afternoon writing down a few posts that you'll see during the week. My goal is to post at least four times per week from now on, and hope I can accomplish it! :D

Today I'll show you a few products I've seen online that I'm just loving. I only own one of them, but really wish I could have them all! I've put together a list of red gorgeous items. Enjoy!

I Love Indie!

I want to share with you a few products that have caught my interest in the last few days, trying to somehow make them work together. Most will be from Etsy, but they won't limit to that. I don't own these products, but certainly will consider buying them sooner or later!

Alice in Wonderland Inspired Small Makeup Pouch by You Are My Sin

Unii Palettes

I ended up buying two of them, in Coal and Twilight. I paid $56 for the palettes and shipping was $12. I'm still waiting on my order, so I'll post about them when they arrive.
Movie Horror Monsters Psychobilly Tote Bag by Exy Arnette

I actually plan to buy this one once I get paid and see if I can make an extra expense. I'm totally drooling over it!

Lullaby eyeshadow by Living Dead Grrl Makeup

Vixen from the Screw Cupid collection by Brazen Cosmetics

I'd use it as a liner together with Living Dead Grrl's Lullaby

Sealed With a Razorblade earrings by Running With Scissors

Lace Draped Spectre Necklace by Whimsy Beading

Ladies Nightmare Of You Platform Heels by Iron Fist

These aren't exactly indie, but... can you blame me?

What do you think? Do you like this kind of post? I spend most of my free time online browsing online shops, Etsy, etc and it's something I just LOVE (people on my personal FB suffer from my product spamming quite often lol). I was thinking about doing this weekly/2 times per month, would you like that?

Which is your favourite? Would you buy any of these? I know I would!

Weekly Lost in Makeupland post

I should really go back to posting the Weekly posts on Sunday, I feel like a total slacker when I post them later than Monday! Still, here is my weekly update on what's going on at Makeupland. There's quite a bit of stuff I want to talk about.

Delayed Packages from December

They are starting to arrive! One of the packages which was taking longer, shipped on Dec 11, FINALLY arrived to the buyer yesterday. I was SO relieved I can't even tell you. I'm quite worried about all the packages I shipped back them I hope they all start arriving.

Here's a bit more info on that, I took those paragraphs from the Royal Mail (UK Postal Service) page.

USA Start date: 18th November
End date: Ongoing

Update 28th January 2011:

The United States Department of Homeland Security is continuing to require increased security measures for items carried on passenger airlines. As a result, some mail entering the USfrom around the world, and including the UK, that would normally be sent via passenger aircraft must now travel by other means, including ships and cargo planes.

Most items, including personal letters and cards, magazines, CDs, DVDs and lightweight packets, will be delivered in the USwithin a few days of posting.  However, there are delays of about two weeks for some heavier packets.  These delays are currently affecting stamped items, franked items, and items posted under contract, with the exception of Destination Sort and/or M-Bag* items.

That means that items shipped via ordinary mail have more of a chance of arriving soon and well than registered ones. This is crazy, but there's nothing I can do but hope things are done eventually in a way it doesn't affect European people when shipping something to the US.

I also wrote a blog post adressing that matter a while ago, you can read it here.

I'm going to continue to keep in touch with the affected buyers and will try to find a solution by the middle of the month for those who haven't received their packages by then.

Releases

I know I keep promising to go back to releasing stuff constantly, but I've gotten an order increase and am working on a lot of stuff and just find releasing a shade per week quite annoying and time-consuming at the momment. So, what I'll do will be release what's left of the Lifestyle collection soon, all at once, and have a few batches prepared before I do it so it doesn't affect my work schedule. Also, the lightening here it's so bad lately (it finally stopped raining yesterday!) that I haven't been able to photograph anything, I still have to take pictures of nearly all my eyeshadows again and upload some more swatches.

Valentines

I won't be releasing a Valentines collection, nor am I going to have one of my weekly sales this week, but I will have a Valentine's sale. From this momment until February 20th, if you write the coupon code MUSTBELOVE at checkout you'll get an automatic 10% discount on your order! ^____^

Highlighter packs

My highlighters are becoming very popular, mostly thanks to Ana ;) and I get lots of questions about which one would suit you better. I'm always glad to answer your questions, and last week I actually posted a How-to tutorial thinguie with lots of pictures showing you how I use them and how they look on my warm skin, but I can't really know how all of them are going to look on you since we all have different skin tones and undertones. So, I've thought that the best way to let you find your perfect highlighter is by offering a highlighter sample pack.

It will cost $4 (separately the price would be $5.50) and you'll receive four baggies with a sample of each of my highlighters : Faerie, Glow, English Rose and as an extra, a sample of Whipped (this one doubles both as an eyeshadow and a eye highlighter). You'll get the same quantity of product than when you order the highlighters separately with the only difference of them going in the small baggies I use for eyeshadow samples instead of the bigger ones I use for highlighters, blushes and face powders.

I find it's quite a nice offer for those who are unsure of which shade will suit them best or aren't really into highlighters and want to experiment with them and their textures at a small prize.

These will be available sometime today or tomorrow. I'm qute busy at the momment and can't promise an exact date, but I will post about that on Twitter, Facebook and here on the blog.

How to's

Last week, I posted a tutorial on how to use my highlighters on the face. I took a lot of pictures and explained step by step how I do it, showing how it works with Faerie on a side and Glow on the other so you could see how a different toned highlighter can change and melt with a skin tone.

Is there anything else you would like me to explain? A tutorial on a make up technique, a way to apply any of my eyeshadows, swatches, comparisons, whatever? I'd love to know and would be glad to take the time and make them, I really enjoy all things make up related from creation, to experimenting with new stuff, and what I love the most is makeup application. If there are any tips you'd like me to share, don't hesitate to ask!

I love shopping indie!

A few weeks ago I received a Shiro cosmetics order I'm dying to share with you, so expect me to post some swatches and rave about the awesome stuff I bought!

Last week I also received a small Beauty From The Earth order I made because of a great sale they had to try ther products (Becca it's your fault, you convinced me!!!) and I also want to show you a couple of shades that really impressed me.

I've also placed orders from Evil Shades, The Morbid the Merrier, Haus of Gloi, and a package from One Hand Washes the Other (yayayayayayayayyyy so excited about receiving this one!!!) still pending to arrive, I'll show you the goodies once I receive them, I'm so excited about everything! ^_____^

Plus, Morgana Cryptoria is going to release 20 new lipstick shades, I can't wait to see them, I'm sure they'll be gorgeous! You can read about my great experience shopping from Morgana Cryptoria here. <3

I think that's it for this week's post!! Stay tuned, I'll be posting more this week ;) Really, thanks everybody for keeping up with the blog, following and all, I'm glad! <3

So, is there anything you're looking forwards to this week? Any ideas, suggestions, things you'd like me to talk about? What do you think of the highlighters pack?

Morgana Cryptoria lipsticks!

05/Feb/2011 UPDATE: As promised, I added lip swatches for the colors I hadn't before, ENJOY!! ;)

If you follow me on Twitter, you'll probably have seen me rave to death these days about Morgana Cryptoria's vegan lipsticks.

It's my second order from that shop and I'm absolutely glad that I placed it. The prices are really fair, I got a shipping notification, the products arrived incredibly fast and, to make it all the better, the products are great. Melissa is lovely and the communication with her is easy and quick. Great quality, the colors suit me well... Can I be any happier?

I ordered four lipsticks:

-Azalea Blue
-Love Lies Bleeding
-Twinkling Rubies
-Very Cherry

The formula is gorgeous, applies opaque in one swipe, I get a good application just from the bullet, which is great and helps me do my lips quick. It does feel really good on my lips as it isn't drying and it lasts and doesn't bleed because it isn't too "liquid". Still, I've worn these lipsticks during more than five hours without needing any lipbalm (I'm always reaching for lipbalms so this is a really good thing).

Not only are the colors gorgeous, but they wear extremely well and for a long time. I've had Twinkling Rubies last on me for five and a half hours, leaving a lovely red stain on my lips. It lasted through eating, drinking a couple of cappucinos, and a redbull. It faded regularly and slowly, so I didn't get any patches.

Overall I'm really impressed because I was expecting something really good and got a Holy Grail. These lipsticks are the perfect excuse to wear a bold lip everyday!

Here you have a few swatches so you understand why I'm so happy!

Azalea Blue it's impressive, a beautiful fuchsia pink with a strong blue shift. My skin is really warm, I'm pale and a bit golden with pink tones so it clashes with my skin tone a bit, still, it doesn't look bad and I find it wearable and in fact I've used it as a lipstick and as a stain, it does leave a gorgeous pink stain once it wears off. I've gotten around four hours of wear with this one.

Love Lies Bleeding is a darker shade of red, looks a bit vampy of me but still wearable, gorgeous for medium to dark skin tones and also flattering for pale people. I especially like it as a lipstain, it's plain beautiful! It lasts on me over three hours.

Twinkling rubies is by far, my favourite. It was a surprise because I hadn't seen any swatch where I could see the glitter properly so I really didn't know what I was buying, but OMG am I glad I ordered it!
It's so beautiful I have no words!! When I apply it to my lips I feel like I'm wearing the most beautiful ruby shoes ever, but on my lips hehe. I find this is the one that lasts on my lips longer. Swatches do it no justice, it's got the most beautiful red sparkle on it.

And my second favourite is Very Cherry, it's a perfect shade of red, more wearable than Twinkling Rubies (it doesn't have glitter). It is GORGEOUS and it's the color that first caught me from the whole Morgana collection. I will update this post with proper lip swatches when I have some time, because it's worth seeing it. It is quite flattering on me and gives my lips a beautiful look. LO-LO-LO-LO-VE it!!!

In conclussion, my experience with Morgana Cryptoria has been great and I will come back, I highly recommend you this store!!

Have you tried Morgana's lippies? Which colors do you like the most? Are there other indie lipsticks you love? I'd love to know! :)
